Three major benefits of small stand-alone solar system

People who are shopping for a whole house solar system are aware of some of the restrictions and some of the expenses associated with installing a whole house solar system.

First, one possible restriction associated with installing a whole house solar is the Neighborhood Covenant.  Many neighborhoods that are governed by a homeowners association (HOA) prohibit installation of whole house solar systems.  Based on our research, there are a few HOA bylaws that allow residents to petition for approval to install a whole house solar system.  In those rare situations the homeowner and the solar installation company must submit an application and the installation plans to solicit approval before they begin the installation project.

NOTE:  Some state laws stipulate that homeowners have the right to install a whole house solar system on their home without approval from a HOA. For more information, see state and community codes and requirements for small renewable energy systems.

Second, two cost relative to a whole house solar system; that are not relative to a small stand-alone solar system [not including the different equipment e.g. hardware] are: (1) installation expenses and (2) cost for local permits.

Installation expenses are relative to a whole house solar system; but are not required for a small stand-alone solar system.  Most homeowners seeking to install a whole house solar system must obtain permits from their city or county building department. These include a building permit, an electrical permit, or both. On the other hand, most small stand-alone solar systems are designed for do-it-yourself (DIY) projects and only require assembly; not a licensed electrician or a certified solar installer.

The cost for local permits is relative to a whole house solar system; but is not required for a small stand-alone solar system. Again, most DIY small stand-alone solar systems are designed to be mobile and portable; therefore, not local permits are required.

Currently, RISER PRODUCTS, is featuring the individual components of a “mobile” “portable” small stand-alone solar system. Combining these innovative individual components guarantee to reduce utility bills. These innovative accessories are designed as off-grid “stand-alone” solar applications, but are compatible with other renewable energy generators (i.e. wind turbines).
